Honda teases 1300-hp race-ready trophy truck that bears Passport name ahead of debut

A new Baja-bound truck

Honda Racing Corporation says the race-ready trophy truck will be revealed later this week. The 1300-hp vehicle is called the Baja Spec and carries the Passport name. Its debut is planned for a private event this Thursday. The truck will also appear at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, and its first race is set for the 2027 SCORE Baja 500.

What the teaser shows

The teaser image reveals massive off-road tires and a widebody shell. Beneath the shell are a long-travel suspension and technology developed from Honda’s motorsports experience. That experience spans IMSA, IndyCar and Formula 1, according to the report. The truck’s full details are due to be revealed later this week.

Honda’s Baja history

Honda’s connection to Baja racing reaches back to the early 1960s, before an official off-road race was held on the peninsula. The new truck’s planned 2027 race entry will add to that history. Honda has named the vehicle Baja Spec, while its first competition is expected to be the SCORE Baja 500.
