Firefox Smart Window adds AI form filling and webpage monitoring to desktop beta

Forms draw on open tabs
Smart Window can use information in a person’s open tabs to suggest text for online forms. Mozilla’s example is transferring work history from an online portfolio or LinkedIn page into a job application.
The option appears after someone selects a form with at least four text fields. Firefox displays the tabs it may use, letting users choose which sources to include before it creates suggestions.
For now, the feature works with text fields on websites. Mozilla says it is developing support for dropdowns and PDFs, and notes that source-page data goes to Google’s Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite to generate suggestions.
Tracking changes on webpages
Smart Window can also monitor a webpage for changes, including new job listings or sales. To set it up, users type “/watch” in the chat, explain what they want to find, and provide the pages to check.
Firefox can look for updates daily or weekly, but the browser must be running. If a matching change appears, an alert arrives through the toolbar’s Tasks button or as a desktop notification when those alerts are enabled. Monitoring pauses after 60 days without a detected change and ends after 90 days.
Initial rollout is limited
The form and monitoring tools are now rolling out in the Smart Window beta for desktop users in the US and Canada. Mozilla says other countries will get access in the coming months.
The features expand the AI browsing experience with ways to use open-tab information and keep watch on selected pages. Their availability remains limited to the desktop beta during the initial rollout.
