Source Says Billy Evans Felt Violated by Shower Scene in Everything Amid Director Claiming He Didn’t Care
What the Shower Scene Shows
After a scene of Evans working out at the gym, the documentary shows him showering at home. The camera pans up his naked body before he gets out and wraps a towel around his waist.
Evans then nearly bumps into filmmaker Nathan Fielder, who is standing just outside the bathroom. The scene includes cameras in the bathroom, outside it and on Fielder, according to Oppenheim.
Source Disputes His Consent
A source told People that the shower scene was not Evans’ idea and said he agreed only with the understanding it would remain PG. The source described the scene’s release as a violation of trust and said it would be unsettling to learn about it through media coverage.
Oppenheim Describes Another Account
In an interview with GQ, Oppenheim said Evans had asked, during a car ride back from the gym, whether the filmmaker wanted to film him showering. Oppenheim said he offered to shoot the scene without showing Evans’ genitals.
Oppenheim said he did not know why Evans showed everything, but suggested the footage gave him the impression Evans might have been excited about full access. He also said Evans looks toward a camera and smiles after leaving the bathroom.
