At trial, beau lamarre condon tells jury he wanted to report deaths, but friend encouraged him to dispose of bodies

Disputed accounts of the disposal

In a statement read to court on Tuesday, Lamarre-Condon accused Kennedy of lying to police about her involvement. He said he wanted to do the “right thing” by Baird and Davies’s families because they deserved to know the truth.

Lamarre-Condon said he cried and asked Kennedy whether he should drive to police. According to his statement, she replied: “No, no, you can’t. They won’t believe you.” He said he warned her she could face an accessory-to-murder charge and told her he would not be angry if she left.

What each says happened

Lamarre-Condon alleged Kennedy helped carry the bodies and pour concrete into bags at a farm in Bungonia to help them sink. He described her as a willing participant and said he initially withheld her alleged involvement because she had begged him not to disclose it.

Charges and police contact

The court heard that Lamarre-Condon handed himself in on 23 February 2024 at 10.37am. Earlier that morning, he reported a psychological injury to a police assistance line, telling the operator he had experienced trauma, destruction and death and had been severely bullied since joining the police force.
