Bayley and Lyra Valkyria’s brutal WWE feud reached breaking point in women’s match of the year contention

A rivalry turns into a match

The conflict began after Bayley and Valkyria failed to win the women’s tag team titles from Brie Bella and Paige in June. Valkyria then turned on Bayley, and later made her submit at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Their dispute continued through several weeks of back-and-forth encounters before the no-disqualification match on Monday Night Raw. The bout was non-title, with the two rivals competing over who was the better wrestler.

Weapons shape the brawl

Bayley quickly reached beneath the ring and brought out chairs, kendo sticks and a broom, then set up a table. Valkyria soon returned to the action, and the fight intensified.

The table was placed on its side atop the announce table. Bayley charged through the middle ropes, but Valkyria caught her; both wrestlers then crashed through the table.

Valkyria keeps fighting

After the table crash, Valkyria tried to recover and mount an attack. She wedged Bayley between two chairs in the ring before climbing to the top turnbuckle. Valkyria attempted a Hurricanrana from the apron to the floor, where Bayley was standing. Bayley caught her and slammed her through a garbage can.
