Off Campus Is Still Dominating Prime Video’s Streaming Charts 5 Months Later

A romance still drawing viewers

The show arrived after Heated Rivalry’s breakthrough success. Both series feature hockey, but Off Campus has its own appeal, built around its lead couple, supporting cast and balance of playful and more serious material.

Hannah and Garrett’s dilemma

At fictional Briar University, Hannah Wells is a high-achieving music major who studies, works two part-time jobs and sings in her room. When her scholarship funding is cut, she needs another way to pay tuition.

Garrett Graham captains the Briar Hawks hockey team, but his grades are poor. More failing marks could cost him his place on the team. Their shared philosophy class brings them together: impressed by Hannah’s grades, Garrett asks her to tutor him, and she initially refuses.

A deal built on tutoring

Garrett knows Hannah has a crush on musician and classmate Justin Kohl, played by Josh Heuston. He offers to help her get Justin’s attention if she tutors him and helps him pass.

The plan involves fake dating. The arrangement links Hannah’s need for financial support with Garrett’s academic troubles, while giving both students a reason to work together.
