Pokémon’s FireRed and LeafGreen Designs: Nintendo Officially Unveils HORI Hardware, Orders Open

Two designs celebrate Kanto
HORI’s Wired HORIPAD TURBO controllers are part of the Pokémon Pixel Art Nintendo Switch 2 collection. The LeafGreen design uses translucent green plastic and depicts a forest setting with Pokémon including Pikachu, Nidoran, Chansey, Meowth and the Bulbasaur evolutionary line. It also features a Pokémon Center from Hoenn.
The FireRed controller uses dark translucent plastic with red tones and a cave setting. Its artwork includes Arcanine, Aerodactyl, Marowak, Charmander’s evolutionary line and Moltres. The designs draw inspiration from FireRed and LeafGreen, which were released in 2004.
Pre-orders cover accessories
Both controllers are available for pre-order through HORI at around $34, according to CBR. The collection also includes a shoulder pouch, a quilted medium pouch and a 24-game card case, each offered in LeafGreen and FireRed themes.
Looking ahead for Pokémon
The collection revisits designs tied to remakes of the franchise’s first games. The article says the series is expected to move toward Winds and Waves in 2027, titles that will begin Generation 10. It also raises the possibility of future Nintendo hardware and controllers tied to those games, but does not confirm any such products.
