A journey from future to past

Continuum begins in 2077, when the United States has become the North American Union and annexed Canada. In Vancouver, police officer Kiera Cameron arrests Liber8 leader Edouard Kagame after the group carries out attacks.

At Kagame’s trial, Liber8 members use a device to travel to 2012, and Kiera is pulled back with them. She joins the Vancouver Police Department and works with Detective Carlos Fonnegra to pursue the group and preserve the future.

Choices reshape the future

The series explores how decisions in the past can affect what comes later. Liber8’s unity weakens when Matthew Kellog defects and begins helping Kiera. Kiera also faces the personal cost of her displacement: her husband and baby boy remain in the future. Meanwhile, Alec Sadler, a young prodigy who assists Kiera and Carlos, is revealed to become one of the North American Union’s ruling oligarchs, setting him against Kiera in later episodes.
