High Potential Fans Missing Season 3 Can Find a Perfect Replacement on Peacock

A wait for High Potential

High Potential follows Morgan Gillory, played by Kaitlin Olson, a single mother with a photographic memory who consults for the Los Angeles Police Department. She works with Detective Adam Karadec, played by Daniel Sunjata, whose approach to solving crimes is by the book.

ABC has moved the series to its mid-season schedule, with R.J. Decker taking its usual Tuesday time slot. Season 3 is expected in early 2027, and Deadline reported that Nora and Lilla Zuckerman will become showrunners, replacing Todd Harthan.

Why Bones fits

Bones follows Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan, a forensic anthropologist at the Jeffersonian Institute, and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth. They investigate murders, often involving bodies that are difficult to identify, despite their initial reluctance to work together.

The series shares High Potential’s crime-of-the-week structure and an unlikely partnership at its center. Bones also developed a long-running romance between Booth and Brennan, a slow burn that may appeal to viewers drawn to Morgan and Karadec’s tension.

The Jeffersonian team

Brennan works with a team that includes Dr. Cam Saroyan, who oversees the Jeffersonian’s “squints,” a nickname Booth gives the group. The staff also includes Dr. Jack Hodgins, artist and technology expert Angela Montenegro, and a rotating group of interns.

The show is loosely based on forensic anthropologist and author Kathy Reichs. It borrows Brennan’s name from Reichs’ book series, which began with Déjà Dead in 1997; in the series, Brennan names her own crime-novel character after Reichs.
