Wicked Officially Sets 2027 Release for Elphaba and Glinda Collector Dolls, Exclusive Reveal

A fashion-led collaboration
The new Mattel collector dolls are based on Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked: For Good. Paul Tazewell, the film’s Academy Award-winning costume designer, collaborated on their designs. The dolls reinterpret the emotion and craft of Tazewell’s movie costumes as couture creations. The partnership brings his creative vision into Mattel’s collectibles following its earlier Wicked doll collection with Universal Pictures.
Contrasting looks, shared story
Elphaba’s imposing silhouette and Glinda’s pink wardrobe make the witches’ styles easy to distinguish. Their clothes also reflect the friendship that changes both characters. In Wicked, appearances influence how Oz sees its two best-known witches. The dolls draw on that contrast while highlighting the connection between them.
Early viewing in Orlando
Both dolls are scheduled to appear at Universal’s Oztacular Spectacular fan event at Universal CityWalk Orlando on October 24. The display gives fans an early chance to see the designs before their planned Spring 2027 arrival.
The reveal centers on the two characters and the costume work behind their looks. Mattel and Universal Pictures have previously worked together on a Wicked doll collection.
