Dark Nature’s Terrifying Wilderness Nightmare Is Officially Your Next Halloween Watch on Prime Video
A retreat turns dangerous
Dark Nature centers on a survivor of an abusive relationship who attends a weekend retreat in the Rocky Mountains with a therapy group. The gathering becomes a fight for survival when an unseen presence begins hunting them in the wilderness.
Berkley Brady wrote and directed the film, marking her directorial debut. The Canadian production combines isolated, monster-in-the-woods horror with the paranoia of domestic trauma.
Streaming gains before Halloween
After premiering at the Fantasia International Film Festival in 2022, Dark Nature opened in limited North American theaters on May 19, 2023. Its VOD release followed four days later.
The film is now gaining popularity on Prime Video as subscribers stream it ahead of Halloween. It ranked among the service’s ten most-watched titles overall this past week and held seventh place among U.S. subscribers for more than five days.
