The second season, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, shifts attention away from David Martinez and toward a different band of mercenaries. Their lives become caught up in violence and redemption in Night City.
All 10 episodes are available to stream on Netflix after the show’s October 20 premiere. The series is created by CD Projekt Red and Japanese animation studio TRIGGER.
Weak and D take center stage
Weak is a former cyberpunk legend who is trying to find his place in a world that has moved on without him. His story gives the new series a different lead from the original.
D is a dangerous nomad whose pursuit of revenge draws him toward secrets that powerful corporations want kept buried. The two characters’ circumstances place them amid the show’s mix of mercenary life and corporate intrigue.
Returning and new creatives
Kai Ikarashi directs the sequel, while Kanno Ichigo is its lead character designer. The series also brings back members of the original creative team. Bartosz Sztybor returns as showrunner, writer and producer. Masahiko Otsuka is also among the returning creatives.
