Prosecutors: German suspect arrested for allegedly driving American teen girl toward suicide after Discord pressure

Arrest followed agency cooperation

German police arrested the suspect after receiving information from the FBI, prosecutors said Friday. The FBI’s Indianapolis office worked with the Fort Wayne Police Department to share information with German authorities.

Allegations involving Discord

Prosecutors allege that from September to October, when the suspect was 17, he influenced the girl through Discord. They described her as psychologically fragile. The suspect allegedly pressured her to cut herself and write “NMK” on a wall in her own blood, then send him video recordings. A few days later, prosecutors said, she hanged herself in her bedroom.

Links to online network

Authorities linked the suspect to an online group called “Nefarious Maniac Kult,” or “NMK.” Prosecutors said the group is part of a global network known by the labels “764” or “COM.” The girl was 14 and lived in Indiana. The allegations concern conduct across September and October; the article does not specify the year.
