Near-Death Experience Changes Everything in First Exclusive Quarter Trailer

A Turning Point for Kelly
Kelly, played by Bascom, has long preferred solitude. In high school, she worked as a librarian’s assistant, despite the book dust aggravating her asthma. A serious episode of low blood sugar changes her outlook. As she explores life with the support of family and co-workers, she also draws on an unusually vivid imagination.
A Story From Experience
Bascom wrote Quarter using her experiences as a young person with diabetes. She also co-directed the film with Manor, who previously worked with her on the television series Mondays and plays the lead.
Festival and Release Plans
Quarter premiered earlier this year at the Tribeca Film Festival. Shields described it there as “one of the first type 1 diabetes movies.” The film is set for release November 13, one day before World Diabetes Day. Tickets are available through CinemaVillage.com.
