How the Knicks championship ring maker captured New York City in diamonds and gold

Madison Square Garden inspires design

Arasheben said the central idea was to capture Madison Square Garden, the site where the championship was won. He described the goal as combining striking design with a strong story. Although he has created championship pieces for other professional teams, Arasheben said the Knicks project was different.

A seven-week deadline

The designer completed the rings on a seven-week turnaround. Arasheben said he works well under pressure, comparing his approach to Jalen Brunson’s ability to deliver late in a game. Arasheben said players’ reactions tell him whether he has succeeded: when their eyes light up and their jaws drop, he knows he has done his job.
