Exclusive sneak peek: Ridley Scott’s post apocalyptic thriller officially sets digital release date, revealing dangers ahead

A dangerous signal calls

Jacob Elordi stars as Hig, a pilot living after a devastating pandemic in Ridley Scott’s adaptation of Peter Heller’s bestselling novel. Hig maintains the small part of the world he can control, sharing his existence with Josh Brolin’s military survivalist, Bangley.

When Hig follows a mysterious radio transmission, he leaves the relative safety of his homestead. The possibility of finding someone else draws him onward, although meeting another person may not be safe.

The cast and setting

The story sets Hig and Bangley’s uneasy partnership against sprawling landscapes. Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Allison Janney and Benedict Wong round out the ensemble. Hig’s choice forces him to weigh the risks beyond home against the cost of staying put. The transmission offers a reason to believe there may be something worth finding.

Featurette shows production

An exclusive sneak peek featurette takes viewers onto the set ahead of the film’s October 27 digital release. It shows Scott working with the antagonists before shifting to nighttime action, mixing movie scenes with footage of the crew at work.

The preview includes fire, close-quarters violence and a substantial explosion. It also compares the blast in the film with a wider view of the explosion being staged.
