Least favorite McDonald’s locations in America ranked by customer ratings

How the restaurants were ranked

SEO Backlinks examined 12,834 McDonald’s locations, each with at least 500 reviews, and ranked them by average score, USA TODAY reported. Founder Oliver Weston said Google ratings help distinguish restaurants that otherwise offer much the same menu at similar prices.

The report said three of the 10 lowest-rated locations were in Michigan. It also included a listing for a McDonald’s at 2045 Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park, New York, with 4.16 stars from 2,285 reviews, but did not explain how that listing fit into the ranking.

Detroit location scores poorly

The McDonald’s at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Detroit received 2.33 stars from 531 reviews, according to the figures provided. The article identifies it as one of the lowest-reviewed restaurants.

A review of the Surprise, Arizona, location criticized its drive-through waits, saying they were severe even when traffic was light. The report did not provide a star rating for that location in the figures shown.

Top locations offer comparison

The report also identified highly rated restaurants. A McDonald’s in Eagle Pass, Texas, led with 4.25 stars, followed by a location in Calexico, California, at 4.23 stars. All 10 restaurants in the top-rated group scored above four stars. The location in 10th place, also in Eagle Pass, received 4.14 stars.

Remodel plans draw attention

McDonald’s has also been in the news over reported concerns among franchisees about requests for major renovations. The article said the proposed remodels would cost $800,000 and involve more than 46,000 restaurants.
