iPhone Duo available to preorder for $1,999 ahead of October launch

Apple’s first foldable arrives

Apple introduced the iPhone Duo at its “Surprise and shine” event, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models. The foldable has a 5.4-inch outer screen that opens to a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display.

It uses the A20 Pro chipset and a 48-megapixel fusion camera, matching the iPhone 18 Pro in those areas. The Duo does not have variable aperture or Face ID; a Touch ID sensor sits along its edge.

Price, colors and availability

The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 for 256GB and comes in Star White and Night Sky. Unlocked preorders are available now from Apple and Best Buy, ahead of the October 23rd release.

Apple says Apple Pencil support is coming later this year. The phone has an IP68 rating, Ceramic Shield 2 on its back and Ceramic Shield over the front display.

Carrier offers vary

AT&T is offering new and existing customers up to $1,200 off with a qualifying trade-in, delivered through 36 monthly bill credits. Customers switching to AT&T may also receive up to $800 on a reward card toward an existing phone balance.

Customers activating a new eligible line online can save up to $200 per line through 36 monthly bill credits. Verizon is waiving its $40 activation fee for new customers who preorder; its payment plan is $55.55 a month for 36 months at 0 percent APR.

Verizon also offers a Simplicity Pro package for $72.22 per month. It includes two additional TravelPass days each month and permits up to two phone upgrades within a rolling 12-month period.
