Internet can’t stop laughing at White House press secretary’s awkward briefing

Katie Zacharia, President Donald Trump’s new press secretary, ended her first briefing after about 14 minutes. The short appearance surprised some reporters in the room.

Asked by Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy whether the United States had stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine, Zacharia said she would respond later. Near the end, she mistakenly said “my president” instead of “my husband.”

Social media users mocked her performance, while the White House and Trump supporters defended her. Some conservative accounts said she seemed nervous but personable and noted that she has a demanding predecessor to follow.

White House communications director Steven Cheung called the briefing a “tremendous start,” saying Zacharia had handled the room and highlighted the administration’s work. The article does not report when she will hold another briefing.
