Brydon Carse can return, says Rob Key, as England reveal central contracts

Carse, 31, is included in England’s newly announced list of 39 contracted players. His existing two-year agreement runs until autumn 2027.

Key said the investigation’s outcome is expected in the near future and could determine whether Carse is available again. The fast bowler has played 14 Tests and 44 limited-overs matches for England.

England’s contract list includes 30 full central deals and nine development agreements. Eleven players, among them Joe Root and Harry Brook, received two-year contracts.

The announcement also included revised coaching support teams for the Test and white-ball sides. Marcus Trescothick, who temporarily led the Test team against Pakistan, remains with the red-ball setup. Carse had not represented England since the Ashes in January, after a wrist injury.

Key points

  • Carse is contracted through autumn 2027 and remains on England’s updated player list.
  • His possible return depends on the outcome of the investigation into the Derby incident.
  • England announced 39 player deals and changes to its coaching support teams.
