Russia hit Ukraine power plant ‘immediately after’ Trump declared energy ceasefire, says Zelenskyy – Europe live

Volodymyr Zelenskyy told a security conference in Warsaw that Ukraine had not been informed in advance of the energy ceasefire announced by Donald Trump.

He said Ukrainian officials learned of the agreement through media reports. Zelenskyy suggested Trump’s team might have contacted Russia, but said Ukraine had no confirmation of that.

Zelenskyy said Russia hit a Ukrainian power plant shortly after Trump’s announcement. He also questioned whether Russian president Vladimir Putin was aware of Trump’s social media post.

Ukraine welcomes the ceasefire if it is upheld, Zelenskyy said, but Kyiv has yet to see evidence that Russia will comply. He warned that Moscow seeks to undermine Europe’s existing security arrangements.
