Christa Pike

A Tennessee judge ordered state prison officials to preserve evidence related to Christa Pike’s failed lethal-injection execution attempt last week.

The order covers records and materials connected to the attempt, including logbooks, medical waste and communications involving officials, NPR reported.

Judge I’Ashea Myles also granted Pike’s lawyers liberal access to their client. Officials must respond to requests for in-person visits within two hours, according to NPR.

Pike remained hospitalized after the attempt, her attorneys said, ABC News reported.
