Naked Trump statue goes on display in Strasbourg

A statue depicting US President Donald Trump has gone on display inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France. The work is by Danish artist Jens Galschiot.
The 2.5-metre sculpture shows Trump without clothes, holding a long golden club while seated on a smaller man. Galschiot says it is covered in 23-karat gold and is titled “Orange Plague”; it is also called “King of Injustice.”
Explanatory cards beside the sculpture describe the smaller figure as bearing Trump’s weight. The artist says the president is obstructing action on climate change.
The statue is located where two Parliament buildings connect and is due to remain until Thursday. It has also appeared in other European cities and at the COP30 climate conference in Belém, Brazil.
Danish MEP Per Clausen invited Galschiot to exhibit the work and said he was not concerned about Trump’s possible response. Trump has not commented on the display.
