Israel now describes FlyDubai attacker as a

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Flydubai captain Smit Machchhar after he was injured in an attack in the cockpit of a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, according to Gulf News.

The report said the co-pilot allegedly stabbed Machchhar during Wednesday’s flight. The captain managed to release the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to enter and restrain the co-pilot.

The aircraft made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. Machchhar was reported to be in stable condition. Gulf News said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised him for helping avert a disaster.
