A crash near Foam Lake, Sask., on Friday afternoon killed three people, emergency services reported.
The victims were a 40-year-old woman and two girls, ages eight and five. All were from Foam Lake and were riding in an SUV; they died at the scene.
The truck’s driver was hospitalized with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Its two passengers were also taken to hospital; one had minor injuries and the other was seriously hurt.
RCMP arrested Kelly Knopf, 40, of Sumter, South Carolina. Knopf faces three charges of dangerous driving causing death and three of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
Wadena/Foam Lake RCMP are continuing the investigation, with help from a collision reconstruction specialist. No further details were provided about what led to the crash.
