Super Bowl 2027: Date, Venue and How to Watch

What is Super Bowl LXI?

The Super Bowl is the National Football League’s championship game. It brings the league’s season to a close, with the teams that advance through the season and playoffs meeting to decide the champion. For viewers who do not follow every game, it is also a major annual event built around a single football match, with television coverage and entertainment around it.

The 2027 game is called Super Bowl LXI. The Roman numerals LXI mean 61. It is the championship game for the NFL’s 2026 season, even though it will be played in the following calendar year. The game is scheduled for Sunday, February 14, 2027. ¹

Where will it be played?

Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, part of the greater Los Angeles area. The stadium is home to the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers. The NFL selected it as the host site in December 2023. ¹

This will be the second Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium. The first was Super Bowl LVI in 2022. It is also set to be the ninth Super Bowl hosted in the greater Los Angeles area. ¹ A Super Bowl host city provides the venue for the game and hosts related events, though the available source does not lay out a full schedule for the 2027 week.

The scheduled date falls on Valentine’s Day and during Presidents’ Day weekend, a combination the source describes as a first for the Super Bowl. ¹

How can viewers follow the game?

In the United States, the game is scheduled to be shown nationally by ABC and ESPN in English. ESPN Deportes is set to carry a Spanish-language broadcast, and Univision is also listed for a separate Spanish-language broadcast on broadcast television. ¹ These are the announced plans in the available source; check official listings closer to the game for final details.

The source does not give a kickoff time, a US streaming option, or details about local viewing access. Those details should not be assumed from the channel list. Viewers outside the United States will need to check their local broadcasters. For example, the source lists 5 in the United Kingdom and ESPN and Disney+ in Latin America. ¹ Rights differ by country, and the listed arrangements may change.

Why does the game matter, and what is still unknown?

For teams and fans, the Super Bowl is the NFL season’s final championship contest. For viewers, knowing the venue and broadcaster helps with planning, while the game itself will determine which team finishes the season as champion. The teams that will play are not identified in the source, and the game has not yet taken place.

The available information establishes the planned date, venue and some broadcast arrangements, but it does not answer every practical question. Kickoff time, participating teams, game-day schedules and final viewing options are not provided. As of October 7, 2026, readers should confirm these details through official NFL, stadium and broadcaster information when it becomes available.
