Back in VOD Top 10, Rebecca Ferguson’s Stephen King Sequel Officially Returns After 7 Years

Ferguson’s busy year

Rebecca Ferguson has appeared in several projects in 2026, with more due to arrive. Earlier in the year, she starred alongside Chris Pratt in the science-fiction thriller Mercy.

Mercy struggled at the box office, with a $60 million budget, but later became one of the year’s most-watched titles on Prime Video. Ferguson also returned as Juliette Nichols for Silo’s third season on Apple TV. The platform has confirmed the show’s fourth and final season will begin streaming next year.

In December, Ferguson is set to reprise Lady Jessica in Dune: Part Three. The film is scheduled to open on the same day as Avengers: Doomsday.

A sequel to The Shining

Doctor Sleep paired Ferguson with Ewan McGregor in a supernatural thriller directed by Mike Flanagan. The film followed The Shining and was released in 2019. Flanagan has become a frequent adapter of Stephen King’s work in recent years. Despite its connection to the celebrated horror story, Doctor Sleep earned $72 million at the box office on a $45 million budget.

VOD comeback after seven years

Seven years after its release, Doctor Sleep has yet to find a streaming home. It has, however, returned to the VOD top 10 in several countries. The renewed rankings mark a comeback for the film, which is among Ferguson’s less-noticed roles.
