Meet 7 of the Most Powerful Characters in Avatar: Seven Havens as Ellora Faces Attack

A Changed World of Bending

Avatar: Seven Havens takes place 225 years after The Legend of Korra, in 399AG. The Cataclysm has ravaged the world, and fewer benders are born each year. Ellora, one of the seven Havens, relies on walls to protect its citizens. Benders are conscripted into its elite brigade, sometimes unwillingly, while knowledge of bending appears to have diminished amid the destruction.

Jae’s Skill and Loyalty

Jae, voiced by Major Curda, is a talented airbender and protégé of Captain Karthik. His patience, ability and loyalty earn him command of a squad, but he later joins the secretive White Lotus to protect twins Pavi and Nisha.

He helps rescue Ellorans from the Anomaly and works with the twins to hold back its spirit energy. Karthik also trusts Jae to teach them meditation and spiritual balance, which later helps Nisha commune with a spirit.

Zi and Agam’s Specialized Abilities

Zi, voiced by Dianne Doan, leads the Faceless and carries out raids in Ellora. At an industrial mill, she defeats two members of Jae’s squad with flaming daggers. She is also a lightningbender, using that skill to break apart a rock slide and save civilians during the evacuation.

Agam, played by Sakina Jaffrey, is the original Faceless Queen and a skilled earthbender. At the Haven summit, she uses sandbending to help subdue Kayoko’s guards and fight Nisha. She can also read spiritual energy, and later uses earthbending to build a barrier against the Anomaly and catch a boulder threatening evacuees.

Karthik’s Dangerous Airbending

Karthik, played by Akshay Khanna, is a master airbender, commander in Ellora’s brigade and secretly the city’s Head Lotus. Known as “The Human Hurricane,” he can defend himself against several attackers at once.

In season 1, episode 5, “The One Left Behind,” Karthik uses airbending to remove the air from a guard’s lungs before the man can disclose what he knows about the Avatar. The technique demonstrates the danger of his abilities.
