Jazz Fall to Mavericks for Seventh Straight Loss: 2 Winners and 3 Losers from Utah’s Defeat

Peterson Bounces Back

After scoring a season-low seven points against New Orleans, Peterson responded against Dallas with 21 points, two rebounds and five assists. He also recorded two steals and three blocks.

Peterson shot 50% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range. The performance offered a promising response after an uneven start to his rookie season.

Markkanen Leads Utah Scoring

Lauri Markkanen led Utah with 24 points and eight rebounds, making eight three-pointers on 53.3% shooting from deep. Without his production, the Jazz shot below 30% from three as a team.

His eight three-pointers tied for the second-most in a game in his career and marked his first time reaching that total since the 2024-25 season. Utah still could not turn his scoring into a win.

Three Disappointments For Utah

Svi Mykhailiuk played 14 minutes and went scoreless, missing all three of his three-point attempts. Through nine games, he is averaging 3.7 points while shooting 28.3% from the field and 20.7% from three.

Brice Sensabaugh also finished without a point, going 0-for-3 from the field and 0-for-2 from three. It was his first scoreless game of the season, though he is shooting 42.9% from three overall.

Mo Bamba received no minutes in Dallas, despite being described as one of Utah’s more impressive rebounders to start the season. The Jazz struggled on the offensive glass during the game.
