Karin Slaughter’s 5 Thriller Series Officially Debuts Next Week on Peacock

A New Slaughter Adaptation

The Good Daughter is a mystery series based on Slaughter’s novel of the same name. Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy star in the limited series, which premieres on Peacock on November 12, 2026.

All six episodes, each one hour long, will be available to stream at once. Slaughter wrote every episode and serves as showrunner, while Steph Green directs the adaptation.

Slaughter’s Television Track Record

Slaughter’s novels have sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. She is a #1 New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author whose more than 25 books have been published in 120 countries.

Her Will Trent novels became an ABC series in 2023, starring Ramón Rodríguez. The show is now in its fourth season. Pieces of Her, based on Slaughter’s 2018 standalone novel, premiered on Netflix on March 4, 2022, with Toni Collette and Bella Heathcote starring.

Pieces of Her’s Streaming Run

Pieces of Her debuted at number one worldwide on Netflix. The series was watched for 227.5 million hours globally between February 27 and April 3, 2022. The adaptation ran for eight episodes. It is another television project based on Slaughter’s crime fiction, alongside Will Trent and the upcoming The Good Daughter.

Slaughter Chose the Story

Slaughter was initially hesitant when asked to write The Good Daughter for television, but later grew curious about the screenwriting process. She told Peacock, “I chose The Good Daughter because it’s always been one of my favorite books.” Green received a 2020 Emmy nomination for directing the Watchmen episode “Little Fear of Lightning.” She is directing the new adaptation, with Slaughter overseeing the series as its writer and showrunner.
