Joanna Gaines Addresses Pregnancy Rumors After Chip Tells Family She's Expecting

Podcast conversation sparks clarification

Gaines discussed her family on the Thursday, November 5 episode of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast. She also encouraged Kylie and her husband, Jason Kelce, to consider having a fifth child.

Gaines said Chip has been jokingly telling people she is already pregnant. She made clear that the claim is not true.

A change in Chip’s position

Gaines recalled wanting another sibling for Crew after having him at age 40. She said she had imagined having nine children, while Chip was not open to the idea at the time.

Now, Gaines said, Chip is the one who wants another baby. She referred to her age, 48, as she described the reversal.

The rumor reaches family and crowds

Gaines said Chip asked her to tell his father about the supposed pregnancy when his parents attended a football game. She also said he had told their older children, and at least one daughter said she would not come home if the claim was true.

At a speaking event attended by 2,000 people, Gaines said Chip asked anyone with a connection to TMZ to pass along that his wife was pregnant. She said the audience was left thinking she was expecting, but reiterated that she was not.
