Idris Elba’s MI6 Spy Series Exiles Officially Arrives in 2027

A New Spy Series Begins

Exiles, a new MI6 spy thriller series written by Idris Elba and Adam Hamdy, is scheduled to launch in May 2027. The first book will be published as a Bantam hardcover, with an audiobook arriving at the same time.

Executive editor Julian Pavia has acquired rights to three books in the series. The opening novel centers on Joe Kane, an MI6 field operative who takes on some of the agency’s most complex and dangerous assignments.

Elba’s 2027 Schedule

Exiles is one of several projects Elba has planned for 2027. Children of Blood and Bone is due to open on January 15, while Sonic the Hedgehog 4, in which he returns as Knuckles, is scheduled for a worldwide launch on March 19. Elba is also attached to High in the Clouds, an animated film confirmed for 2027 that does not yet have an official release date.

Other Projects Ahead

Before those 2027 releases, Elba is expected back in theaters with the sci-fi thriller Above the Below on December 4. The article also notes his role in Masters of the Universe, which did not succeed at the box office but later became one of Prime Video’s most-watched films of the year.
