Muse voice mode brings real-time chats and animated avatars to Meta’s AI agent

Voice chats and animated avatars
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that users can now speak with the Muse AI agent in real time. While Muse talks, its avatar animates in sync with the words.
Users can ask Muse to choose a voice tone or browse voice options in the avatar settings. The feature is rolling out in the United States for the app.
Early use shows quick replies
In brief testing, Muse responded quickly over voice, though it sometimes paused while looking up information or checking something. The agent can also handle text-chat-style queries during a voice conversation.
The avatar’s animation worked well in testing, but the experience felt uncanny with an avatar modeled on Mark Zuckerberg. The tester also could not make Muse’s voice sound exactly like Zuckerberg.
More devices planned
Meta says the voice feature will come to its AI glasses soon. It will also be available on the Muse Charm, a forthcoming gadget that is supposed to ship this year.
Key points
- Muse now supports real-time voice conversations in the app in the United States.
