Motorola’s Signature phone is going ultra premium at $1,600, with a 7,000mAh battery and GrapheneOS support

Motorola enters flagship territory

Motorola is positioning the Signature 27 as an all-out flagship phone, a departure from earlier high-end Edge models that fell short of the top tier. The company’s recent success has come largely from its Razr foldables.

The Signature line had not been available in the US before. With the Signature 27, Motorola is taking aim at premium rivals such as Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra and pairing the phone with a luxury design.

Price and core specifications

The Signature 27 starts at $1,599 and includes 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra also costs $1,599 for a 512GB model, while its 256GB version is priced at $1,399.

Motorola lists a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and a 6.8-inch tandem OLED screen. The phone also has IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Display, cameras and software

The two-layer OLED display is rated for peak brightness of 12,000 nits. Motorola says the design may help limit power use and heat at its brightest setting, though real-world performance remains to be seen.

The camera system includes a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia L910 sensor, a 200-megapixel 3x telephoto and a 50-megapixel ultrawide. An Event Vision Sensor is intended to detect movement at the pixel level, and Motorola says the phone will support GrapheneOS.

Charging and broader lineup

Motorola promises seven years of OS upgrades. The company also announced a Moto Watch Fit 27, rated for up to 12 days of battery life, and Moto Buds 27 with Bose ANC and IP57 ratings for both the earbuds and case; pricing was not announced.
