After 24 Years, Godzilla Officially Revives Its Most Beloved Monster Battle With Online Multiplayer

A monster brawl returns

The original Destroy All Monsters Melee let players turn city streets into a battleground. Kaiju could hurl buildings and fight familiar monsters, making the wreckage part of the contest.

That setup brought Godzilla’s large-scale clashes into a game where players could decide which monster won. For fans of the 2002 release, the remaster offers another chance to settle old rivalries.

Updated for new platforms

The remastered game was released on November 3. Pipeworks Studios, which developed the original, returns for the update, while Atari is the publisher. Players can find it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. The updated version includes improved graphics and gameplay, as well as online multiplayer alongside local play.

Price and multiplayer

The standard digital edition costs $29.99. Online play adds a new way to take on other players, while local action remains part of the game. The remaster centers on the monster-versus-monster battles that defined the original. Players can once again use the city around them as part of the fight.
