Goku’s God Form Sets Up a Bigger Clash in Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 5—Release Date and Time
Goku unlocks divine power
After Oolong loses a rock-paper-scissors game with Beerus, Goku uses Bulma’s birthday bingo Dragon Balls to summon Shenron. The dragon explains that the legendary warrior is not hidden in space and describes a ritual to create a Super Saiyan God.
Five righteous Saiyans must channel their energy into a sixth. Vegeta, Gohan, Goten and Trunks join Goku, but the group is one person short until Videl reveals she is pregnant; unborn Pan completes the ritual.
Episode five viewing details
Episode 5, titled “The God of Destruction and Son Goku,” is scheduled to air Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 9:00 AM PT and 12:00 PM ET. Its Fuji TV broadcast in Japan is listed for 11:15 PM JST.
Crunchyroll will carry the episode, alongside Hulu in the United States and Disney+ in selected international territories, including Canada, Latin America and Poland. Netflix US subscribers are scheduled to receive it six days later, on November 14 at 12:00 AM PT.
A faster, updated remake
The remake follows the Dragon Ball Super manga by Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou more closely, trimming much of the original anime’s filler. It is reportedly listed for 19 episodes, compared with 41 episodes for the first three arcs of the 2015 series.
Toei Animation has also given the show a visual overhaul under animation director Tadayoshi Yamamuro. The retelling gives the transformation a fresh presentation even for viewers familiar with the 2013 Battle of Gods film or the earlier television version.
The battle moves skyward
Beerus has so far defeated Super Saiyan 3 Goku in two hits on King Kai’s planet and taken down the Z Fighters aboard Bulma’s cruise ship. Goku’s new form sets the stage for a more substantial test against the God of Destruction.
Episode 5 and the following episode are expected to take Goku and Beerus’s fight from Earth’s skies into the upper atmosphere. The Beerus arc has six episodes, with two remaining after episode 5; the story then moves to the Frieza Revival arc.
