$20 off each of two orders: Amazon Prime members getting a restaurant delivery perk through Uber Eats
How the Uber Eats benefit works
Prime members can order from Uber Eats through Amazon, the companies announced on Thursday. Amazon said members can begin using the service without setting up a separate Uber account or installing another app.
Food orders of $25 or more have no delivery fee. Members can also receive $20 off each of their first two qualifying orders, but they must place orders through Amazon to access the offers.
Grubhub partnership ends
Amazon is ending its partnership with Grubhub, which had provided Prime members with similar benefits. The companies had worked together since 2022. The Uber Eats arrangement is the latest addition to Prime member benefits, which also include free access to Alexa+, same-day fresh grocery delivery and a fuel discount.
Delivery market shifts
The agreement arrives amid other changes in food and retail delivery. DoorDash said last week it planned to acquire Instacart in a $17 billion deal, which would bring together companies with many supermarket and restaurant partners.
