Which Custom Chevy Is Your Favorite? This SEMA Pair Has the Crowd Voting

Two builds make their debut

The vehicles, named “Chasing Gold” and “Sweet Emotion,” were built for the Dixxon Flannel Co. owners. Both are 1973 Chevrolets, with the pair drawing on classic squarebody styling while incorporating updated power and components.

Their SEMA unveiling was the first time either build had been seen outside the shop. The commissioning couple attended and saw the completed vehicles for the first time there.

Blazer combines power and color

“Sweet Emotion,” the K5 Blazer, uses a Stage 2 LS3 V-8 topped with a Granatelli Motorsports Zilla intake manifold. Its components include a Roadster Shop chassis, a Bowler 4L80E transmission and a Currie 9-inch rear end.

Arizona Custom Car Design handled the bodywork and worked with Kolor Koalition on the Blazer’s purple finish. The vehicle also carries custom “hers” badging at the front.

Attendees choose a favorite

SEMA visitors could cast votes for either build. At the time of publication, “Chasing Gold,” the “his” C10 pickup, held 53 percent of the votes and was leading the poll. The two vehicles bring together several aftermarket companies, while sharing a focus on squarebody Chevrolet design updated with LS power and modern components.
