Torres NCIS Spinoff Rumors Officially Addressed by Wilmer Valderrama as His Story Shifts

Valderrama weighs in on speculation

During an appearance on TODAY Show with Jenna & Shinelle, Valderrama was asked about a possible series centered on Torres. He said he did not think one was on the way, while noting that the show listens to fans.

Valderrama described Torres’ current arc as a shift and said it was enjoyable to explore where the character could go. He added that a spinoff would be fun if fans wanted to see more of Torres.

Torres faces his undercover past

The speculation grew after season 24, episode 3 introduced Walt Keller, played by Mike O’Malley. Keller had mentored Torres during his undercover work as Dante Torres. Keller argues that Torres should not reject Dante, while Torres alternates between resistance and hesitation. After a case challenges his beliefs, Torres returns to Keller and appears to accept a questionable unofficial CIA job.

A possible direction for NCIS

The consequences of Torres’ apparent decision have not yet been fully shown. The plot could lead the franchise toward a CIA-focused story, though Torres’ new path currently appears to be part of NCIS itself.

The franchise has previously followed agents in Los Angeles, Hawaii, New York and Sydney, as well as in the short-lived NCIS: Red. More recent projects have centered on individual characters, including NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Tony & Ziva.

Season 24 broadcast schedule

New season 24 episodes are set to premiere on CBS Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 8 PM ET. NCIS: New York follows at 9 PM, with NCIS: Origins season 3 scheduled for 10 PM. Episodes also stream on Paramount+.
