Exclusive: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Hollywood dreams in jeopardy as show projects stall and employee cuts ties

Netflix projects await progress
The Sussexes’ Netflix films “Meet Me at the Lake” and “The Wedding Date” remain in development, sources told Page Six. One source said no apparent progress had been made since March, while another described the pace as standard for the industry.
Archewell loses senior executive
Chantal Pysnik, Archewell Productions’ longtime head of nonfiction, has left the company, Deadline reported Tuesday. She was among its earliest hires and led the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan.” Pysnik joined the couple at Sundance in January for a screening of “Cookie Queens.” She also attended the daytime Emmys last week, where “With Love, Meghan” was nominated for outstanding lifestyle program but lost to “A Different Breed,” a series about dogs.
A source said Pysnik wanted a new chapter. Harry and Meghan will seek someone to fill her role, leaving Nishika Kumble, senior vice president of scripted television, as a key remaining executive.
Further departures and cuts
Netflix recently removed content chief Bela Bajaria and film boss Dan Lin, with Peter Rice taking over content operations. It is unknown whether Rice shares his predecessors’ support for the Sussexes, but a source said co-CEO Ted Sarandos remains behind them. In March, Netflix ended its relationship with Meghan’s As Ever brand and canceled “With Love, Meghan” after two seasons.
