Gosselin Says He Hasn’t Heard Twins’ Voices in 12 Years Amid Estrangement

A long break in contact
Speaking on the Legally Goff Podcast on Nov. 3, Jon Gosselin described the estrangement from his 26-year-old twins, Madelyn and Cara. He said it began when they were 13 and that he had once been an active, everyday parent.
Gosselin said he has missed events such as graduations and prom. He also said he has photos of the twins but might not recognize them on the street.
What he says he has missed
Gosselin said he does not know whether Madelyn and Cara have partners, what their favorite colors are, or whether they drive. He attributed the separation to being cut out of their lives and said he believes they accepted a negative account of him.
He also referred to allegations Collin made in his memoir, In The Shadow of 8. Kate Gosselin has denied Collin’s accusations, writing on TikTok on Oct. 22 that she knows who she is and that her children know her.
Contact with other children
Hannah recently said she has not lived with her father or spoken to Collin in about a year. Jon said his no-contact relationship with Joel, Aaden, Alexis and Leah began before the pandemic; he last saw them in 2018.
Family milestones over time
Jon and Kate Gosselin raised their twins and sextuplets on TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8. The sextuplets—Hannah, Collin, Alexis, Aaden, Leah and Joel—turned 21 on May 10, 2025.
Jon shared a photo of Collin and Hannah at their 2023 high school graduation. Kate posted about the four sextuplets who lived with her after their 20th birthday in 2024, while Hannah celebrated her 21st birthday with her father and his fiancée, Stephanie Lebo.
