$1.71 Billion Revenue Marks Record Third Quarter as AMC Theatres Rides Box Office Rebound

Revenue and profits rise

AMC Entertainment reported third-quarter revenue of $1.71 billion, compared with $1.3 billion in the same period of 2025. It also recorded net income of $109.3 million, reversing a year-earlier loss of $298.2 million.

Adjusted EBITDA reached $347.5 million, up from $122.5 million and another quarterly record. The company’s previous quarter had seen revenue rise 14 percent to $1.59 billion. The article attributes much of the earlier loss to non-cash charges linked to a July 2025 refinancing.

Admissions and concessions grow

Admissions revenue increased to $953.5 million from $715.1 million a year earlier. Food and beverage sales climbed to $589.5 million, compared with $451.8 million. AMC reported 52 million attendees in the U.S. and another 22.7 million across international markets during the quarter. Its theaters showed Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while the company also offers premium formats including Imax, Dolby Cinema, iSense, XL and laser-projection screens.

Debt remains a key challenge

The stronger results come as AMC seeks room to refinance its substantial debt and lower interest expenses. Recent transactions moved about $4 billion in maturities to 2031 and 2033.

The company has used theaters and related intellectual property as collateral when exchanging new debt for existing borrowings. The article says the refinancing efforts are intended to give AMC more time to reduce long-term debt and ease pressure on its balance sheet.

Holiday releases offer next test

AMC faces another test during the holiday season, when The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three are scheduled to play in its theaters. CEO Adam Aron credited audience interest, loyalty programs, premium auditoriums, cost management and execution for the results. He also cited a resurgent box office, market-share gains in domestic and international markets, and record revenue per patron.
