Why Miranda Kerr was seriously considering walking the VS fashion show—then ultimately chose peace

A decision guided by anxiety
Kerr discussed the offer on Tuesday’s episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. She said she meditated while weighing whether to return to the Victoria’s Secret runway, which she last walked in 2012.
She described feeling uneasy about appearing in lingerie. “Everyone’s in their underwear,” Kerr said, adding that she is 43 and has four boys. She said the anxiety remained despite trying to calm herself through meditation.
Kerr said she tested her decision by imagining turning down the show. She immediately felt at peace, which she took as a sign that declining was right for her, even though members of her team urged her to walk.
Grateful for the invitation
Kerr said her life is at a different stage now than it was during her earlier Victoria’s Secret shows. She also spoke warmly about the brand and her past experiences.
Other runway and family priorities
In September, Kerr made a surprise runway appearance for Stella McCartney, nearly a decade after her previous fashion show. She said the nerves before that appearance felt different from those she felt about the Victoria’s Secret event.
Kerr is focused on her Kora Organics skincare line and raising her four sons: Flynn, 15, Hart, 8, Myles, 7, and Pierre, 2. She shares Flynn with ex-husband Orlando Bloom and her three younger sons with husband Evan Spiegel, whom she married in 2017.
