Whitney Peak Felt Over Her Head Joining Hunger Games as She Covers Cosmopolitan With Co-Stars

A demanding new role

Peak portrays Lenore Dove Baird in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. She told Cosmopolitan that the scale of the franchise and the character’s significance left her feeling outmatched.

Peak said she eventually chose to set aside those worries and focus on the work. She also teased the movie’s emotional impact, telling audiences to bring a box of tissues.

Three separate covers

Peak, Grace and Hawke each appear on a different cover of Cosmopolitan’s Winter Issue. The three actors are expected to appear in the upcoming film this November.

Co-stars share the pressure

Grace plays Maysilee Donner and said she had been a fan of The Hunger Games before joining the cast. She had made fan edits of the films and jokingly described herself as a “CapCut warrior,” referencing a “Team Peeta” edit featuring Josh Hutcherson’s character.

Hawke, known for Stranger Things, plays Wiress. She said the cast’s shared experience helped ease the pressure, describing them as a team that would “sink or swim” together.

Film arrives in November

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is scheduled to reach theaters on November 20. Peak, Grace and Hawke are among the actors set to appear in the film.
