Deadspin: Timberwolves look to find their track when they face Bucks

Minnesota adjusts without Edwards

The Timberwolves are 4-3 after winning three of four games with Edwards. Since he departed with a knee injury, they have lost two of three; he is expected to miss about two months.

Ball shot 2 of 10 from the field and 0 of 4 from three-point range in Minnesota’s 121-111 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. He had five turnovers and four assists. Coach Chris Finch said Ball made unnecessary mistakes, while also arguing that opponents fouled and crowded him throughout the floor.

Bucks seek steadier play

Milwaukee is 1-5 and lost 136-111 to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. Kel’el Ware led the Bucks with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Tyler Herro scored 15 despite making 5 of 18 shots.

First-round picks Brayden Burries and Nate Ament each scored 14 points in that game. Coach Taylor Jenkins said the rookies have played alongside different groups of teammates, and the team has not found consistency in those combinations.

Scoring leaders to watch

For Minnesota, Jaden McDaniels leads the team with 17.3 points per game and is shooting 55.3% from the field. Ayo Dosunmu averages 15.3 points, while Ball averages 14.4 and shoots 39.3%.

Herro leads Milwaukee with 22.0 points per game and shoots 44.7% from three-point range. Jaime Jaquez Jr. averages 16.2 points, and Ware contributes 13.0 points and a team-high 8.7 rebounds per game.
