One win in four, Sharks aiming for consistency heading into home matchup with Flames | Deadspin

Sharks seek a complete game

San Jose tied Ottawa 1-1 late in the first period Saturday on Michael Misa’s goal, but then conceded four unanswered goals in a 5-1 defeat. The Sharks have been outshot in seven straight games.

At 7-7-1, San Jose is just outside a playoff position. Warsofsky said the team has not yet played a complete game this season and urged players to review their performance and get to work.

Consistency remains the goal

Monday’s game is the final contest of San Jose’s four-game homestand. Barclay Goodrow said the Sharks have shown in stretches what they can do, but need to sustain that level.

The Sharks entered the season with high expectations, and Warsofsky said their current play is not good enough. He pointed to the need to find their game quickly.

Calgary looks to rebound

The Flames began a three-game road trip with a 5-2 loss to Colorado. They fell behind 4-0 before the game’s midpoint, then Martin Pospisil scored early in the third period to make it 4-2 before Colorado pulled away.

Farabee offers a bright spot

Joel Farabee scored Calgary’s first goal against Colorado and has 12 points—five goals and seven assists—in his past eight games. Farabee said he felt the score did not reflect how close the game was, pointing to Calgary’s chances early in the third period. The Flames’ road trip continues in Seattle on Wednesday.
