Matthew Goode Returns as Netflix’s 10/10 Crime Thriller Officially Wraps Filming on Bigger Season 2

Production wraps on Season 2

Dept. Q completed filming for its second season on October 24, bringing the series closer to returning with Matthew Goode as troubled detective Carl Morck. The production moved ahead quickly after the show became a major success last year.

The debut season accumulated more than 27 million views and remained in Netflix’s global top ten for six weeks. Series helmers Scott Frank and Chandni Lakhani are taking the next story beyond Edinburgh’s streets.

A new case from Adler-Olsen

Season 1 adapted Mercy, introducing Morck and the department housed in the police station’s basement as they investigated their first cold case. The second season will adapt Disgrace, the second book in Jussi Adler-Olsen’s long-running novel series.

The case reportedly begins with the closed investigation into the murders of a brother and sister 20 years earlier. A boarding-school student confessed, but the file’s arrival at Department Q leaves Morck questioning the verdict and why someone has brought the case forward now.
