Old Raven Officially Brings Daenerys Targaryen Back to Game of Thrones: Legends

Daenerys returns to the game

Game of Thrones: Legends is a free-to-play mobile puzzle role-playing game. Players collect and improve champions, weapons and dragons drawn from Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.

The game’s Old Raven summons set will include Daenerys Targaryen as Mother of Dragons. Other available characters include Maester Aemon, Benjen Stark, Samwell Tarley, Rhaenyra Targaryen as the Black Queen, and Grey Worm.

Getting these characters requires exalted tokens, which players must earn by playing. The update does not give further details about how many tokens each character will require.

Robb’s War features champions

A separate event, Robb’s War, is scheduled to run from Thursday, November 5, at 4 a.m. ET, until Monday, November 9, at 2 a.m. ET. The event brings back several Legendary Champions from the franchise.

Its roster includes Robb Stark, Daemon Targaryen, Olenna Tyrell and Daenerys in her Conqueror of Qarth form. The game’s update presents this as another version of the character available to players.

A divisive television ending

Daenerys’ television storyline moved from an oppressed and sympathetic figure toward increasingly troubling decisions. In the final season, she destroyed much of King’s Landing, a turn that some viewers found abrupt.

The character’s ending might have felt more convincing with additional time to develop, the article argues. Her return in the game offers fans a new way to engage with a major figure from A Song of Ice and Fire.

More franchise plans ahead

The article says George RR Martin’s next book has yet to show signs of appearing. The television projects provide fans with other forthcoming entries in the franchise.
