Exclusive: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne delivers final blow amid estrangement

Judge approves name change

Judge Virginia Keeny approved Vivienne’s petition during a hearing Monday at Los Angeles Superior Court’s Stanley Mosk Courthouse. Vivienne’s attorney, Peter Kenneth Levine, appeared remotely. The judge said the approved petitions would receive signed decrees, which could be collected in about a week. Vivienne filed her request on July 20, eight days after turning 18, and cited “personal” reasons in court documents for removing Pitt from her name.

Vivienne used Jolie publicly

Vivienne had already been publicly identified as Vivienne Jolie for more than two years. In May 2024, the name appeared in the Playbill for the Broadway production of “The Outsiders,” which she helped her mother produce.

Her twin brother Knox also omitted Pitt from his high school diploma earlier this year. The article says it has not been confirmed whether Knox legally changed his name.

Three siblings changed names

Vivienne joins Shiloh, Zahara and Maddox, who have also legally removed Pitt from their names. Shiloh was the first of the former couple’s six children to do so, filing on her 18th birthday in May 2024; her request was approved that August.

In September, a Los Angeles judge approved Zahara’s petition to become Zahara Marley Jolie. Maddox also legally removed Pitt from his name that month, becoming Maddox Chivan Jolie.

Former couple’s legal disputes

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in September 2016, after two years of marriage. They were declared legally single in 2019 and settled their divorce in December 2024, following an eight-year legal battle.
