BlueBrixx officially returns Stargate SG-1 with new release, 19 years later

From Film to Television

Stargate began with a 1994 film directed by Ronald Emmerich, who co-wrote the script with Dean Devlin. Its story follows a military team led by Colonel Jack O’Neill and Dr. Daniel Jackson as they travel through an ancient device to another world.

The film’s success led to Stargate: SG-1, a science-fiction series starring Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Shanks. It ran for ten seasons and produced two spin-offs: Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe.

Two New Building Sets

BlueBrixx, a British toymaker whose building sets work with Lego and similar blocks, is releasing two sets based on SG-1. One depicts the Goa’uld Symbiote, a serpentine enemy of the team, in a 400-piece construction set.

The Jaffa Battle Pack includes a small group of Jaffa warrior mini-figures with different helmet and weapon options. It also comes with two buildable scenic pieces, an equipment crate and two weapons emplacements.

Reboot Plans And Preorders

The sets arrive as fans await developments on a new Stargate series. Amazon MGM Studios announced a reboot from series veteran Martin Gero last November, but it was cancelled earlier this year; the reported reason was that it was not accessible to new fans.

Another reboot is in development from WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer. BlueBrixx says both construction sets are coming soon, and fans can sign up on BlueBrixx.com for notification when preorders open.
